Come, Lord Jesus
"I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever."
Today’s Meditation
The Eucharist is the great mystery of faith — the Word made flesh, offered once on Calvary and made present anew on every altar. In receiving the Body of Christ we do not merely recall a past event; we enter into it. Time collapses at the altar. The Last Supper, the Cross, the Resurrection — all present, all real, all offered for you. Saint Thomas Aquinas wrote that the Eucharist is the sacrament of love, the sign of unity, the bond of charity. It is the food that does not merely sustain life but transforms the one who receives it. We become what we eat. And so the Church's great prayer has always been simple and total: Come, Lord Jesus. Be my food. Be my life. Transform me into yourself.
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, hidden beneath the appearance of bread and wine, I adore you with all my heart. Draw me ever closer to the mystery of your love, that in receiving you I may be wholly given back to you. Amen.
